URGENT FOSTER PLEA: Parvo Survivor Needs a Dog-Free Haven!

A Remarkable Recovery

Last week, a sweet young puppy came into the Whitmore Animal Shelter and sadly tested positive for Canine Parvovirus. Thanks to swift action and incredible community support, she underwent treatment and has made dramatic improvements! She is now eating completely on her own and is acting much perkier, brighter, and full of life.

The Missing Piece: A Temporary Foster Home

While she has beaten the hardest part of the virus, she is not quite ready to return to the shelter environment.

The Catch: She will continue shedding the parvo virus for the next 2 weeks (14 days).

The Shelter Risk: While all of our shelter dogs are fully vaccinated, the potential exposure risk to our healthy canine population is simply too high. We cannot safely house her on-site right now.
