Area Forecast Discussion
Owens Valley / Mammoth Lakes / Mono County / Death Valley
Dennis Mattinson / Sierra Atmospheric Forecaster
Synopsis – FRI JUN 26 2026
Change is afoot in our weather starting today. An atypically strong trough for June, moves into the PACNW, bringing breezy to windy weather to our area today over the weekend. Winds could gust to as much as 35 mph in the Owens Valley and 60 mph in Mammoth by Saturday. With those winds and our dry weather, it’s important that everyone be very careful of any ignition sources, because of Critical Fire weather conditions over the weekend. Along with this, we will get much cooler temperatures, so Bishop will only see a high of 84° on Sunday and 104° in Death Valley…MATT
