Due to extreme fire danger in the Eastern Sierra, Sheriff Ingrid Braun has issued an immediate ban on all campfires and open burns within all Mono County Parks and County Campgrounds, effective today, June 24, 2026.

What is BANNED:

Wood campfires and fire pits

Charcoal or briquette barbecues

Open burning of any kind

What is ALLOWED:

Portable gas, propane, or pressurized liquid fuel stoves and lanterns with a dedicated shut-off valve.

Please help us protect our communities and natural landscapes. Violations are a misdemeanor offense and are strictly enforced.
