For one night only, lovers of indie animation, cinema, and psychological dark comedy can experience the finale of The Amazing Digital Circus at the theatre in the Eastern Sierra.

Indie animation studio Glitch Productions released the first episode of its hit animated series on YouTube in 2023, and the hour-long final episode—combined with penultimate episode 8—is getting a worldwide theatrical release. The series follows six individuals trapped in a digital world and living in cartoonish avatars, overseen by an AI ringmaster. After years of following these characters, fans are eager to see how the curtain closes on their story.

Record-breaking presales for Fathom Entertainment spurred the theatrical distributor to extend the run dates from June 4-7 through June 18, right before the finale’s June 19 release on YouTube and Netflix. Locally, Bishop Twin Theatre responded to community interest and is offering ticket presales for the first time. Theatre owner Holly Mullanix said they presold 52 tickets in the first week.

In a time where most distributors are requiring two- and even three-week engagements for films, Fathom Entertainment specializes in shorter engagements for niche productions. This allows smaller theatres to offer residents a greater variety of films.
