Summary of Incident
On 04/06/2026 at approximately 8:19 PM, a 34-year-old male pedestrian was walking and pushing a bicycle in the #1 lane of northbound US-395, just north of the Vista Point.
A 2017 Toyota Prius traveling northbound in the same lane struck the pedestrian, causing him to be propelled into a dirt and rock embankment. The pedestrian sustained immediate major injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by personnel from the California Highway Patrol Bishop Area and Mono County Sheriff’s Office.

Summary of Incident
On April 6, 2026, at approximately 8:19 PM, a pedestrian was walking while pushing a bicycle in the #1 lane of northbound US-395, just north of the Vista Point. A 2017 Toyota Prius traveling northbound in the same lane struck the pedestrian, propelling him into a dirt and rock embankment.
