June 2, 2026, Statewide Primary Election Voter Notice

Inyo County Clerk-Recorder/Registrar Danielle M. Sexton would like to provide the following important dates coming up for the June 2, 2026, Statewide Primary Election.

  • 03/12/26: Inyo County Elections will hold a public randomized alphabet drawing to determine the order in which the names for State Assembly Member District 8 candidates will appear on the ballot.

  • 04/23/26: Local Voter Information Guides will be mailed to each household, and will include voting information, ballot samples, and local candidates’ statements. Voters will receive a separate guide from the State for all State contests.

  • 05/04/26: Ballots will be mailed to every active registered voter, as required by Election Code § 3000.5. To verify if you will receive your mailed ballot, please check your Voter Registration status and mailing address here: https://VoterStatus.sos.ca.gov/.

  • 05/18/26: Voter Registration Deadline to receive a mailed ballot. After this date, voters may register and vote provisionally in person on Election Day in the county of their residence.

  • 05/26/26: Deadline to request a replacement ballot if lost or damaged.

  • 05/28/26: Ballots received by this date will be included in our first report at 8 p.m. on Election Day.

  • 06/02/26: Election Day! Our in-person voting locations will be open on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Your in-person voting location may have changed! Please see the stub attached to the top of your mailed ballot to find your designated voting location. Voting locations are also listed on our website: https://elections.inyocounty.us/voting/voting-locations/.

  • 06/09/26: Mailed Ballots postmarked by Election Day must be received by this date.

  • 06/11/26: Hand Tally Audit (tentative date).

  • 06/24/26: Signature Deadline for mailed ballots. (EC § 3019) Mailed Ballots returned on time but were either not signed or the signature did not match signature(s) on file have until this date to return the form they received from us to validate their signature and have their ballots accepted and included in the election tallied results.

  • 06/25/26: Target date to certify our local election results. We can certify earlier if there are no pending mailed ballots with signature issues.

  • 07/03/26: Official Election Results of State contests will be Certified by the Secretary of the State’s Office.

Voter registration forms to update your information are available at the Inyo Elections Office, any Inyo County Post Office or Library, or online at https://RegisterToVote.ca.gov/.
