Temporary Food Permitting Now Online

First, the Inyo County Environmental Health department launched its well, soil boring, and septic permits online, and now has extended the convenience to anyone needing food vendor permits.

Anyone hosting an event that will have food vendors present can now use the OpenGov portal (https://countyofinyoca.portal.opengov.com/categories/1073) to submit their organizer applications and food vendor applications online. OpenGov is a cloud-based platform designed to streamline permitting, licensing, and code enforcement processes for municipalities and their constituents.

Requests for well, soil boring, and septic permits can also be made to Environmental Health at the same link. Paper permits are no longer accepted, however, staff is available to help with the new online process.

The OpenGov system enhances transparency by enabling applicants to track the status of their permits in real-time. Residents also benefit from having all correspondence with inspectors and departments in one centralized location, eliminating the need to search through multiple department pages for applications.
