A 20 pound 8 ounce German Brown was caught and released by Paul Gonzales in Rush Creek near Silver Lake in the June Lake Loop. The fish was caught on Oct. 25.

That’s a good trout!!! I’ve fished for trout for years, but I doubt its 20#s. Trophy Sticks? Are those the lures that crack and break on people? I seen the facebook page about them. Jake do you really have a criminal record and buy those lures form China and resell them here?
We do donate…to veterans and to breast cancer and the make a wish foundation and would love to donate to any worthy cause.
Hello everyone on here. I am very sorry but someone is using my name and posting comments as me. I Googled my name and found this. I am not a top angler nor do I care about this fish. I wish this man the best and don’t care what his fish weighs. Who ever did this has nothing better to do and is trying to wreck my reputation as a legitimate fisherman to someone who would hate on a guy for catching a nice brown trout. Very sorry for the inconvenience but the comments above were not made by me or anyone at trophy sticks. We do not need to promote ourselves or our products in this manner. To the man who caught this fish….nice fish and good job.
Not even close to twenty you know it and the world knows it.
I don’t give free hand outs. Buy some and put them to the test. Like I mentioned I am a top brown angler. That fish isn’t close to the claimed weight.
Jake…If you knew anything about fishermen living in the Sierras’,most of us don’t do it to try to out-do the other…or carry a camera or a video camera with us while we’re walking the streams or the lakes just in case we catch a big one and feel the need to post the catch on a web-site to entertain others…or in your case,try to profit off of it by tooting our own horn about how good we are…We leave that to the So Calers that come up once a year hoping to go home with some photos and stories to tell their city friends…In my case,give me a day off,a $35.00 ugly-stik,a $50.00 Shimano reel and a couple jars of power-bait,and at the end of the day,I’ll be sitting in the campground with a nice trout dinner cooking over the BBQ….and a few to take home….no photos….no stories….no sales pitches….
Didn’t ask for handout. Asked for donation to local nonprofit of your choice. They can use them as gifts for fund raisers and you get tax write off and some attention without trolling for free handouts of advertising.
Hey Jake, since we don’t know much about trout fishing around here, could you tell us the weight one more time?
This guy should have used a trophy stick. Not even 7 pounds. I am the top brown angler on the west coast. That isn’t 20 pounds.

Not only is this fish not even close to 20 lbs, it was most likely snagged. It happens every year in the fall when they are spawning. Big browns snagged illegally!
The fish is all of 8 pounds. Nice 8 pound fish, Definitely not even near 20 lbs. I’m surprised newspapers put this in at 20…Allan Cole, Brownbagger president
Big and old fish like this one usually can’t handle the stress (if they put up a good fight) of being caught and if released, will probably go to fish heaven anyway. I tried to nurse a 5 lb. rainbow at Crowely for 30 minutes a while back, but no cigar. Didn’t want to, but HAD to take him home.
I really hate to burst his bubble, but unless there was a certified scale on scene, I will not believe that is a 20 and a half pound Brown. I agree it looks more like a 5-7 pound fish.
I do have some experience in measuring and assessing fish in my past.
I fear this is just another fish story.

That fish isn’t twenty pounds. If he used a trophy stick he might have caught a 20#er
