2023-24 Lone Pine High School Volleyball Game Results – submitted by Coach Mel Joseph

Bishop at Lone Pine
Tuesday, August 29, 2023

Lone Pine opened the 2023-24 volleyball campaign hosting their neighbors from the north the Bishop Broncos (in non-league action) on Tuesday falling 3-0 (scores were 19-25, 14-25, 11-25) the Lady Eagles jumped out early in game one playing with composure and consistency, Bishop kept balls alive and was able to counter attack with a bit more precision to sustain any run that Lone Pine went on throughout the rest of the match. As a team Lone Pine served 40/44 (91%).

“We played well, however defensively the girls struggled to dig up the Broncos deep shots, not allowing us to set up our counter attack and it frustrated us”. This was Lone Pine’s first contest playing against other bodies than our own teammates.

The Lady Eagles will continue to work on getting comfortable with their court dynamics, responsibilities and trust as they prepare for the upcoming league schedule. “Overall I was happy with the teams play and energy, tonight was just another pre-season practice, except in uniforms”.

Lone Pine will welcome the talented Mammoth Huskies to the “Coach” Bud Hill Gymnasium on Thursday with the JV at 4:00PM followed by varsity action.
