Vehicle fire on CA-190

DEATH VALLEY, Calif. – A soft drink delivery truck burned to the ground on CA-190 near Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes in Death Valley National Park on August 15. The driver was not injured. Firefighters believe overheated brakes started the fire.

The National Park Service, Beatty Volunteer Fire Department, Caltrans, and California Highway Patrol responded to the incident. This was the fourth vehicle fire in the park in just over a month.
